Humaria or Scutellinia or ...

Post by Wood Wanderer » Wed May 20, 2015 12:57 pm

Afternoon all

I am having a poor day in trying to ID recent finds :?

When I first spotted the attached on a very damp piece of wood by a pond my initial thought was Humaria based on the light translucent interior with short brown hairs and a distinct cup shape, very small at only 2mm across.

Now I am beginning to wonder whether in fact it is a Scutellinia, can anyone offer an opinion. I appreciate that a positive ID is unlikely but would like to get to genus if I can.

Probably out by a mile but might Trichophaea be another possibility?
