Fungus (?) on or among liverwort

Not even sure whether this is a fungus but hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction!
Growing on or among the liverwort Metzgeria furcata, conidia rough with a thin wall, 12-15 um in diameter

Hi jenny,

It's a myxomycete. ;)

From the general looks, along with size & warted appearance of spores, I'd suggest Badhamia macrocarpa as one possibility, but there are quite a few similar looking species within various other genera. (Physarum springs to mind).

To be anything like sure, you would need to check various other micro-characteristics - obviously requiring appropriate specialist literature.

If you don't have any myxo specific literature, some of the late 19th & early 20th century myxo books can be downloaded in their entirety as pdf's, and are still quite useful.
