Found yesterday.

Cudoniella clavus - Spring Pin, growing on semi submerged twigs in a shallow, trickling, woodland stream, feeding into a reservoir.

Hi Mike,
Plenty of this at one our Bog Beacon sites in Longshaw on Weds. One was on a dead grass stem, and without the dark base - but there was no difference in spore size (all mostly up to 15 long) and very few cups were more than 1 cm across - so I assume they are all C. clavus var clavus and not C.clavus var grandis.
Cheers,
Steve
