Roy Betts

Post by Chris Johnson » Sun Aug 19, 2018 6:23 am

My latest copy of Field Mycology brought the sad and unexpected news that Roy Betts has passed away.
When I started looking at fungi 9 years ago I joined Michael Jordan's group ABFG forum. Among the notable helpers were Andreas Gminder and Roy Betts. When starting out the question are of necessity basic and sometime a bit silly but nothing was too much trouble for Roy and his answers were always detailed.
When Adam set up this forum it was a pleasure to see Roy come on board with his vast knowledge of macro fungi. One only has to look at the Entoloma discussions on here to get a measure of that.
He will be greatly missed.
Regards, Chris

I fully agree, Chris.

Roy will be sadly missed throughout the world of mycology.

Regards,
Mike.
Common sense is not so common.
