Winter agarics

Post by roy betts » Sat Jan 28, 2017 5:47 pm

Despite the cold and dry weather of late, our first survey of 2017 (on 26th January to Tyntesfield) produced about 20 agarics - in order of appearance:
Tubaria furfuracea
Hypholoma fasciculare
Pholiota gummosa
Coprinellus micaceus
Flammulina velutipes
Mycena tenerrima
Mycena filopes
Gymnopilus penetrans
Gymnopilus bellulus
Melanotus horizontalis
Ripartites tricholoma
Meottomyces dissimulans
Psathyrella spadicea
Galerina clavata
Lepista flaccida
Clitocybe fragrans
Laccaria laccata
Hygrocybe chlorophana
Baeospora myosura

Good selection! Went to Minwear today and saw only one agaric and the rest were resupinates/brackets that I shy away from.

Found only two myself in the New Forest yesterday - Panellus stipticus and Pleurotus ostreatus. Some more perishable poroids were about though, including Phlebia tremellosa. However, like Adam, most were brackets and resupinates more hardy in nature.
