Biological control of Japanese Knotweed

Post by adampembs » Fri Jul 10, 2015 7:42 am

This was published in 2009 suggesting an insect or a fungus
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... hy-e-e.pdf

which led to the release of an insect and is looking promising

Most recent news on it I could find.

Very interesting. I hadn't picked up on this work. Japanese Knotweed is a major problem in South Wales. I have been told that the first introduction of this plant in UK was somewhere near Maesteg but I'm not sure.
