Fungus on Holly (Ilex aquifolium)

One fungus in two stage or two different ones?

The red circular body you found was probably the only terrestrial Red Alga in the UK - Phycopeltis. A recent arrival in the uk over the last few decades. Found on evergreen leaves - box, laurel rhododendron etc.

What's this doing in the non-flowering plants forum as well as the ID requests forum? Is it just me or are others seeing this?

I moved it here as my "fungus" is an alga, so this is the right place. The link in the other forum was left there in case people were looking for it and couldnt find it. :)

Sorry.
I'll quite like to move my posts which have now been identified as leaf mines and galls etc. into the invertebrate forum, can I do this myself and if so how?
