I also found some recently near Loch Insh so I'll have a good look next time I'm there.

Is anyone familiar with it, Puccinia arenariae?
These leaf discolourations are in a couple of places near me on Pink Purslane and seem fungal, not insect based...........?

Hi Ken,

Obviously, I haven't actually seen it on C.sibirica, but from Wilson & Henderson, I think it would be more defined, and more chocolate-brown in colour. (With definite sori on the undersides of the leaves).

Might be worth sending the photo to Chris, and asking his opinions just in case?

Yes, I agree Mike, more dotted seems to be the case, in a vague circle, reminiscent of some Porpidia lichens - also a tad early....Still waiting for a reply from Chris on something else - looks like he's busy as usual.
