Re: National Fungus Day 2015
We are visiting a dune site - Poppit Sands near Cardigan. Apparently a very good site.

Does yeast count? If so, I'll pop round to the local brewery, anything for a good cause.
When is it?

The Mid Yorks Fungus Group is running a weekend of Fungi at Harlow Carr in Harrogate with displays and forays on the Saturday and Sunday.

The Outer Hebrides Biological Recording team of stalwarts are out and about on Sunday 4 October (weather permitting) looking for fungi at North Loch Eynort on the east coast of South Uist. Under the guidance of Chris Johnson we will be trying our best to improve our rudimentary skills and to remember what he taught us last week!
Everyone welcome - for details see the OHBR website events page
Christine
PS I know we're a week early, but there are gales forecast for next week, but if the weather is good we'll be out and about again.

Pembrokeshire Fungus Recording Network has a full day of activity, with a morning event looking at sand dune fungi and an afternoon event at the Teifi Marshes wildlife centre (which includes wet woodland as well as marshes.). All are welcome but bookings must be made in advance. For more details, see http://www.pembsfungi.org.uk/calendar/
