Re: Fungus, lichen, or...?

It's way outside of my sphere and I don't think it is this. However it looks a little bit like something I've seen photos of before. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monotropa_uniflora I don't think this species occurs in the UK anyway. Certainly in the last photo it looks more like a plant structure t...

Re: Myxo on dead Hogweed stem

Hi John

It's certainly a good possibility.

If you have good specimens, I'd be happy to ID them for you.

Kind regards,

John

Re: Myxo? on moss

Hi Mal

It could be. The spores looks within the realms of possibility. I can't really see what's going on in the macro photo.

Do you have spore size? Any capillitium?

Have you managed to dry and save any?

Kind regards,

John

Re: Another Myxo for ID please

Maybe it's not D.leucopodia then - the iridescence is quite distinctive..

Thanks James - I will pm you my address but it will be a while before I can look at it.

Cheers,

John

Re: Slime mould on woodchip ID please

Too early to say for sure I think but it has got the look of an Arcyria or some kind..

If you transport a sample very carefully (minimising vibrations) and keep it on some wet tissue in an open box in the garage/shed it may mature fully over around 24-48 hours..

Cheers,

John

Re: Another Myxo for ID please

Could be Diachea leucopodia? Were the immature ones irridescent?

If you have any samples of less mature ones in good condition then could I bother you for a sample?

Kind regards,

John
