Bracket ID please (was Turkey Tail ID)

When these started to appear I thought they were Trametes versicolor ( you told me that ;) ) of which there a lot mostly on the tree stumps that I have dotted around the area. But now I not sure as these are mostly white. They smell mushroomy. As a bye the bye following our extremely wet weather of ...

What Lichen is this please

Had a few lichen growing here following our extremely wet weather (NW Scotland) which I have not seen before. This one almost seemed to appear overnight and completely covers the trunk of an old and dying Rowan Tree and next to it and also halfway up a young Birch tree. I am sort of waiting to see i...

Interested? Possibly

You probably know that it is National Mushroom Day in Sweden. My daughter is out in a forest near Umea where there is a place set up where people can go, to have what they have found, be identified by experts. What a great idea, problem is Daughter does not speak Swedish. Keeps messaging me to trans...

Re: Fungi ID again please

You asked if they were near Birch or Alder. The Beech which they are under runs along the top what I call a ravine (where once there must have been a river, formed presumably in ice age. on the other side it is virtually all Birch right down to where the river bed would once have been which is virtu...

Re: Fungi ID again please

When I took first photos, it had been raining heavily then very bright sunlight and the fungi were this colour, I did check one against my screen, so now I am really puzzled as going out today they are more brownish but vary in colour depending how close they are to the base of the tree, looking dow...

Re: Fungi ID again please

Under Beech trees in the moss around the trees and down the sloping bank on which the trees perch. This is the best I can do of what looks like milk on the gills. My camera does on like close ups of pale objects. Could it be that as it has been constantly raining over the last few days, that moistur...

Re: Perfect Morning - (Revisited!)

What a lovely walk - amazing scenery. Photo 7 reminds me of a favourite stopping place in Glen Etive where the water flows between a deep sided ravine. how clear the water is.
