Fungus on Ginkgo biloba leaves

Bartheletia paradoxa has only 34 records on FRDBI 1 (17 south and west Wales) but seems to be present wherever G.biloba is found. January 2018 search in Glamorgan has produced nearly 20 finds including in the car park at National Museum of Wales Cardiff. 18 trees there all had the fungus - photos at...

Re: Myxomycete of the Day

Fantastic colours :) This species seems to come up as 'extinct' in UK but maybe just 'under recorded'?

Paint roller fungus!

Unusual substrate - a discarded paint roller :) Others nearby on woodchip (probably deciduous) and 2 nearby in moss on rock. Canal side VC39 Staffordshire 1/1/2018. Tentative id Galerina marginata (suggestion by Rich Wright)

Re: Frosty finds

I would suggest Collins Complete (not!) Guide to British Mushrooms and Toadstools Sterry and Hughes 2009. Out of print but 2nd hand copies usually available via Amazon etc. Glossy pages with photos and small enough to carry in the field

Re: Fungus Of The Day (One identified fungus only please, with species name in attachment comment and in post)

Scarlet Elfcup Sarcoscypha austriaca first sign of them in this location (Brynna Woods NR) this season. On probably Salix in very damp area. Microscope work on specimens from here in recent years all proved to be this species. Only confirmed record in VC41 as far as I know in recent years for Ruby S...

Hopefully I am posting in the correct place and photo will attach :) Typhula fistulosa (syn. Macrotyphula fistulosa var. fistulosa) Pipe Club past it's best. Same location as November 2016 when it was looking much better. About 14cm tall, in damp scrub woodland with mainly Salix and Malus around

Re: Cobalt Crust Terana caerula

Hi Adam, I remember dial-up :) Me, photos and computers don't mix well unfortunately :( I looked at your guide to re-sizing photos but it was black magic to me. I will try photo of T.c. from usb microscope which should be small enough file to post.

Happy New Year!
