I'm cheating as there are 2 here, 3 if you include the host, but they are related.

Re: Beige/grey woodland mushrooms. Pale yellow gills. Blewits?

Welcome to UK Fungi :)

Im amazed Mal can tell that from the photos (but I don't dispute it) Never use flash with fungi unless you are a pro or semi-pro because it gives poor colour, in this case it makes them look yellow. Always use natural light or white light.

Adam, Are you aware of any reason? Norwegian Mycena has been a fantastic site! Mark
No idea, sorry. One for Andreas I would think.

Mycena for ID please

Struggling with this Mycena. L value is about 30. Strongly amyloid spores. About 3cm diameter cap. I thought it had a slight radish smell, my wife thought it had a "horrible" smell. Growing in leaf litter along a disused railway line with broad-leaved trees. I'm torn between M.polygramma and M.aetit...

Re: Literature and resources for general fungi

I see the Norweigian Mycena site has been taken down. Will remove it from the index.

You can fill in your profile with your area and it helps get people to meet up. Surely there is a fungus recording group near you? Its really fun to go on forays and any genuine recording group will have knowledgeable people there.

Re: New and interested, please help me with my first ID!

Possibly Gymnopus dryophilus or G. aquosus. Well done for showing the gills and top, but photos should should the whole stem as these two are split based on a bulbous base. Sometimes, you need a penknife to cut a bit of grass away from the base to see this.

Re: New and interested, please help me with my first ID!

Welcome to UK Fungi. I have rotated your upside-down image for you. I would suggest viewing your images in a image editing programme, like paint.net or Photoshop to rotate any that are upsidedown. As to the fungus, I really have no idea. It looks like a white (or possibly) pink spored species, so a ...

Re: looking for a couple id’s or help with I’d.

Firstly, welcome to UK Fungi! :D The quality (and lobsidedness) of the photos of the first one makes it a bit hard to be sure. EDIT- It's an Amanita and I think Amanita citrina. The second one *might* be young Porcelain fungus - Oudemansiella mucida The 3rd is indeed a Russula but these are tricky t...

Yellow agaric on flowerbed

Looks like Sulphur Tuft at first glance, but fresh fruit-bodies (bottom of photo) are a bit too red, and there is no green hue in the gills so thought I'd ask the experts. I didn't collect this one. No distinctive smell.
